Reeldivers resides at our one-and-a-half-acre property, Grotto Bay Bahamas,
where the beach and boat jetty are only steps away from the dive shop
and guestrooms. An exotic grotto filled with avocado trees and banana
palms is the beginning of a vast underground cave system, complete with
stalactities and stalagmites!
If you're not a certified diver, we can take care of that.
Kris Newman is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with many years of experience,
assisted by Jean Pierce, a PADI Divemaster. We teach through the Divemaster
level and can get you out blowing bubbles in no time.
Grotto Bay Bahamas sits on the calm leeward side of the island, so your
initial training will be right off of our own beach, just steps from your
room if you're staying with us.
We have all the rental gear you'll need,
and it's kept in pristine condition. Oceanic regulators and BCDs are thoroughly
checked out before each new rental. You can bet that as dive managers
for film
productions, safety is always our number one priority.
On our 42-foot vessel Sharpshooter we carry oxygen and firstaid kits,
a marine radio, GPS, and an underwater recall device. But the sun is usually
our biggest threat, so the bimini is always up for rotection.
We have two exclusive ocean-view guestrooms at Grotto Bay, each with air conditioning, screened-in porch, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and kettle. The package includes a continental breakfast, a cave tour and use of bicycles and kayaks. Fun dine-around dinners can be arranged to acquaint you with locals.
Several lodgings nearby can take larger groups. Our favorite family at Chez Pierre has five individual cottages just waiting for you. They edge a vast stretch of sandy beach, and Pierre's cuisine? Ooh La La!Or rent a one-or two-bedroom apartment with full kitchen facilities at Sea View Lodge and prepare your own catch-of-the-day.
